Perry D. Tokach, age 52, of 498 Vandervort Rd., Laceyville, passed away Saturday evening, Sept. 8, 2012 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.
Perry was born on Nov. 11, 1959 in Meshoppen, the son of the late Nicholas Tokach, who passed on July 30, 1982 and Anna Trabish Tokach, who passed on July 30, 2007. Perry graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School class of 1977. After high school he worked for Penthouse Meat Packing in Fleetville, and later at staff management at the Proctor and Gamble Paper in Mehoopany.
Perry grew up on the family farm on Indian Hill in Laceyville, where he still resided. He was a member of St. Joachim's Roman Catholic Church in Meshoppen.
Perry loved to hunt and fish in his younger years.
Perry is survived by his sisters Susanne Smith of Meshoppen, Doris Storey and her husband Fred, Sr. of Laceyville and Cindy Johnson and her husband Art of Forkston; his sister-in-law Freda Tokach of Laceyville; his nieces and nephews, Stephen Smith of Meshoppen, Theron Smith and his wife Mary of Enola, Rhodonna Hart and her husband Todd of Syracuse, N.Y., Fred Storey Jr. of Charleston, S.C., Jackie Tokach of Harrisburg, Judy Wildonger and her husband Jim of Wyalusing and Nicholas Johnson of Forkston; his special friend Cara Coolbaugh of Tunkhannock; as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Michael Tokach, who passed on Aug. 11, 2002 and a nephew Jeffery Tokach, who passed on March 30, 1976.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 from the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main Street, Meshoppen with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the St. Joachim's Roman Catholic Church in Meshoppen with Father Edward Michelini of Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Towanda officiating.
Interment will follow at the St. Joachim's Cemetery in Meshoppen. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012 at the Sheldon Funeral Home in Meshoppen. A Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to make memorial donations may do so in Perry's name to the St. Joachim's Cemetery Association, c/o Mr. Roger Furman, 2431 SR 3004, Montrose, PA 18801.
