Jane M. Spencer, 82, of 111 N. Higgins Ave. Sayre, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre with her family by her side.
Jane was born May 4, 1930 in Towanda, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Bullock Kelley.
She was employed by Herman Rynveld Sons in Athens until the business closed and later provided care for the elderly for a number of years.
Jane loved crocheting and gardening and her favorite hobby was growing roses.
Surviving are her daughters, Virginia (Cecil) Kelley-Coons of Barton, N.Y. and Linda (Charles) Grace of Columbia Cross Roads; a brother, Morgan (Audrey) Slatington; sister, Alice (George) Walmsley of Gillett; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Kelley Jr. of Dushore, sister-in-law, Helen Kelley of Dushore, and by a sister, Loretta Gallow of Lockwood.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Alteri-Bowen Funeral Home, 314 Desmond St., Sayre.
Interment will follow in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society , Bradford Unit, 1948 East Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701-3945 in Jane M. Spencer's memory.
