Mrs. Mildred E. Loek, age 97, of Peachtree City, Ga. formerly of Lime Hill, Wyalusing, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012 in Georgia.
Mildred was born on Dec. 23, 1914 in Suver, Ore., daughter of the late Charles & Hazel Frost Gustafson.
Mrs. Loek was a veteran in the United States Army and served as a WAC during World War II. She worked for Eastern Airlines as an administrative officer. She met Reinhold "Gene" Loek in an ice cream parlor in Miami and they were married in 1970. Gene predeceased her on Aug. 6, 2000. They moved to Wyalusing from Miami in 1978.
She is survived by her daughter Carol Piel of Peachtree City; granddaughter, Heather Piel of Parkville, Mo.; grandson, Brian Piel and wife Lauren of Kansas City, Mo.; great-granddaughter Kylie LeFils of Parkville, Mo.; and niece Dora Blaine and family of Stevensville.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Wyalusing Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA 18853.
