Geraldine M. Thomas, 73, of Rome Township, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Memorial Hospital, Towanda. Geraldine was born on Jan. 16, 1939 in Sayre, the daughter of Stephen O. Bailey Sr. and Frances M. Lattimer Bailey. In early years, she was employed in the wire drawing department of GTE Sylvania and was later employed by Pat's Palace and the Soup and Sandwich Deli in Towanda. Geraldine enjoyed cooking, baking, playing bingo and going to Tioga Downs.
Surviving are her companion of 43 years, Jim Schrimp of Rome Twp.; children Patricia (Cecil) Colegrove of Standing Stone, Janice Groover (Terry Vanderpool) of Towanda, Tanya (Orlando) Brown of Rome, LaVerne Thomas Jr. of Standing Stone and Kristy Brown of Rome Twp.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brother Raymond Bailey of Towanda; sister, Shirley (Charles) Vanderpool of Towanda; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by; an infant grandson, an infant great grandson, sister, Virginia Chilson and brothers, Steve and Ambrose Bailey.
Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Towanda.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, Towanda.
