Lola M. (Wrisley) Dunbar, 82

Lola M. (Wrisley) Dunbar, 82, of Big Pond, Pa., went to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 24, 2012 surrounded by her family at her home. She was the loving wife of Dilmon J. Dunbar. The couple married March 24, 1949 and had 63 happy years together.

Family and friends are welcome to call from 10:30-11 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Big Pond United Methodist Church 2676 Big Pond Road, Big Pond, Pa. The memorial service to honor Lola's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 30 at the church with her pastor and friend, Rev. Richard Noggle officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Hillside Cemetery. The Gerald W. Vickery Jr. Funeral Home Inc. have been entrusted with the arrangements.

Lola was born on May 9, 1930 in West Burlington, Pa., a daughter of the late Theodore and Mary (Bourne) Wrisley. She was a Troy High School graduate, worked in the office of the Valley Stockyard in Athens, was a teacher's aid at the Springfield Elementary School, and was known to many because she was the Springfield Township Tax Collector. She was a member of the Bradford County Republicans Woman and the Ondawa Grange in Big Pond. The two most important things in Lola's life were church and her family. She was a member of the Big Pond United Methodist Church, was their organist for many years, and was a member of the United Methodist Women. Lola was always busy with her family, whether it was sporting events her children or grandchildren were in to having family get together's at her and Dilmon's home. She also enjoyed knitting, quilting, and tending to her flowers around her house.

Lola is survived by her husband Dilmon; her children Dale Dunbar of Big Pond, Pa., Karen (James) Kilzer of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Gene (Olwen) of Bisbrooke, England; her grandchildren Tyler, Jonathan, Christine, Brad, and Seth, and five great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Lola was preceded in death by her parents; her son Brian Dunbar who passed away in 1991; her brothers Albert, E.J., George, and Kenneth Wrisley, and her sisters: Sara Case and Bertha Tiller.

Memorial contributions may be made in Lola's memory to the Big Pond United Methodist Church, 2676 Big Pond Rd., Columbia Cross Roads, PA 16914 or to the Hillside Cemetery Association, 84 Dubert Rd., Columbia Cross Roads, PA 16914.
