Robert Taylor Shenk 50, passed away on May 17, 2012 in Manor Care North of Williamsport Pa.
Robert was born Feb. 24, 1962 in Lancaster, Pa., a son of the late Robert H. and Eleanor Taylor Shenk.
He was raised in Dushore with his two sisters and a brother. He graduated from Sullivan County High School class of 1981. After graduation he worked for Clair Black Plumbing and heating for several years, and Indian Hills Log Homes, and Williams Oil Company for many years, and Schoonover's Plumbing and Heating for the last eight years. After many years of training he obtained the prestigious title of Master Technician which gave him the ability to work on heating and air conditioning units as well as welding, plumbing and electrical.
Robert was known by many as Robbie or Rhubard. He loved to create and restore classic cars and trucks. Anyone who knew him knew that there was nothing that he couldn't fix or build. He enjoyed working on project cars with his brother Kevin and nephew Taylor. He helped many people in our community in their time of need and appreciated everything that people did while he was in his time of need.
Robbie is survived by his two sisters Karen Gregori (Gary Lamoreaux and children Cody Gregori — from Dushore, Pa.), Aaren & Jay Moyer (from Jacksonville Fla.), April and Jim Broscius and their children Mark, Ally and Caroline (from Mildred Pa.), Susie Owen and her husband Orrin (and children, Steve and Holly — from Troutdale Ore.; and a brother Kevin Shenk and his wife Annette and their children Taylor and Kamaray from Dushore Pa.; and his beloved dog Cookie.
Rob's family and friends will be holding a celebration of his life from 4 to 7 p.m. on June 2, 2012 at the Dushore American Legion Post No. 996, and encourage people to bring their classic cars and fond memories.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed in Robert's memory, to Relay For Life that is being held at the Forksville Fair Grounds on June 2, 2012, or at www.relayforlife.com under the marker for this event. This event and the proceeds go to help other cancer victims as well as research to help find a cure.
