James L. Murray, 60, of Towanda, formerly of Bellefonte, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2012, at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Born Dec. 4, 1951, in Middleton Conn., he was the son of the late Kermit and Betty (Martin) Murray. He married Robin (Cole) Murray, who survives at home.
Jim was a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School and Penn State University. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a master chief. He was an electrical occupational instructor at Northern Tier Career Center for over eight years. He was a member the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Along with his wife Robin, he is survived by his two sons, Nathan Murray (Sharon), of Wyalusing and Daniel Murray (Jennifer) of Clarence; one sister, Susan Murray, of Bellefonte; and two brothers, Mike Murray, of Bellefonte and Doug Murray, of Greensboro, N.C.
A memorial service with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 7, 2012 at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, PA 16823. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Bradford County Humane Society, Route 220, Ulster, PA 18850.
