Rose Marie McManus, 65, of LeRaysville, passed away Sunday morning, April 22, 2012 at Memorial Hospital, Towanda. Rose was born Aug. 2, 1946 in LeRaysville, the daughter of Marion Bender. She attended school in LeRaysville and in early years was employed by Taylor Packing in Wyalusing. She was later employed by Amphenol in Endicott, N.Y. for many years. On Jan. 3, 1965 Rose married Robert I. "Bob" McManus in Great Neck, Long Island, N.Y. Rose was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter in LeRaysville. She enjoyed spending time with her family, yard sales and reading.
Surviving are her daughters, Nancy M. Woodburn and husband Robert F. Woodburn of Rome and Linda L. Taber and Tyrone Brown of Rome; grandchildren Kristin McManus, Cassandra Woodburn, Ryan Woodburn and Casey Flynn; great-grandchildren Allison and Andrew Vanderpool, Isabela Galeno, Malina and Marcelo Ramires and Quintin and Cale Woodburn; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Gail Bender of Meshoppen; mother-in-law Phoebe McManus of Birchardville; brother-in-law and Sister-in-law, James C. and Margaret McManus of Towanda; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; special cousins: Tommy Joe Taylor of Warren Center and Richard Taylor of LeRaysville; and special friends Verna and Hoover Lines and Laurie and Tom Walmsley.
In addition to her mother, Marion Bender Bennett, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Robert I. McManus on May 5, 2006 and extended family member Michael H. Vanderpool.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda. Interment will follow in the Stevens Cemetery, Pike Twp. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family will provide the flowers and requests that contributions be directed to the H.O.P.S. Ambulance Association, in care of James W. Seipler, 606 Ridge Road, Rome, PA 18837 or to the LeRaysville-Pike Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 78 LeRaysville, PA 18829 in memory of Rose Marie McManus.
