Almeda L. Wittie, 100, of 1001 North Elmer Ave., Sayre, passed away on Dec. 21, 2002.
Born Oct. 11, 1902 in Roseville, Pa., the daughter of William and Della Bochus Utter.
She was a member of the East Smithfield United Methodist Church and the widow of the late Charles H. Wittie, who passed away in 1970.
She was predeceased by her sister, Edith Utter Shoemaker, and her brothers, William, Abram and Elmer Utter.
She is survived by: two nieces, Arlene Utter Campbell of Covington, Ga., and Velma Utter of Elmira, N.Y.; a nephew, Charles Utter of East Smithfield, Pa.; and special friends, Geraldine and Paul Hurley of Sayre, Pa., Helen Smith of Sayre, Pa., and Donald Westbrook, also of Sayre, Pa.
Family and friends many call at the Lowery Funeral Home, 225 South Main St., Athens, on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral and committal services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Lusk, pastor of the East Smithfield United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens.
Memorials in Almeda's name may be directed to the East Smithfield United Methodist Church building fund, Church St., East Smithfield, Pa. 18817 or to the charity of one's choice.
